This one came in as a blind carbon copy so it was obviously part of a mass mailing. Notice that the scammer does not even mention WHAT the item of interest is.    So I replied back!

"YES!  I have an ANTIQUE TRACTOR GEAR that I would love to sell!"  It is currently priced at $1040. (Hey, every farmer has a junk pile full of really valuable "Antiques".... I did not mention that this particular gear had a bunch of teeth missing and is rusted to the shaft but if someone complained, I actually have LOTS of junk they can come and pick through!  And for $1040 how could I pass up the chance to sell it.)

Talk about "Let's get right down to business"!   Here we have a first contact message that gets right to the "Send me your address as I am ready to send you a check". 

All of these scam messages came from a computer in Great Britain. The CAPITAL LETTERS are original.

I have emphasized certain following words because the scammer forgot to change them from a previous scam. How stupid!

The bank rejected the check as a fake so now I know WHAT you are..... a
slimy Nigerian con man.

NO Reply.

The check arrived by mail from England.    Nothing in the envelope but the check. The "Shipping" funds were to be wired to Nigeria.   The magnetic numbers at the bottom of the check are in the wrong order.   I did not even show this one to the bank.  The mere mention of "Counterfeit" or "fake"  stops all communications from the scammers.
